Who We Are
We are Wye River Candle Company, a home fragrance company based in Wye River on the Great Ocean Road.
Born out of the love of the wild and untamed, our mission is to bring a taste of the Great Ocean Road into your home while also making a difference.
Our blended soy and coconut wax candles are handmade in small batches in Wye River, using only the most sustainable materials available.
We give back by donating 10% of our profits to replant native forests in Australia and New Zealand.
Our Inspiration
From the towering Redwoods of the Otways, to the trails and gardens of Wye River, our unique scents are inspired by the raw, natural beauty of the Great Ocean Road.
Wye Bushland is an ode to the Otways – a fresh and woody scent with notes of pine, eucalyptus, lemon myrtle and sandalwood.
Wildflowers & Honey is like a warm spring breeze, sweet and addictive. Our top seller!
Citrus Grove is inspired by local gardens of lemon trees and rosemary bushes on a warm summer day.
Otway Redwood is our newest addition. Inspired by the dark and mystical Californian Redwood Forest, this gorgeous scent is woody and earthy, with notes of sandalwood, cypress, and fir needle.
About Our Handmade Soy Candles and Diffusers
Perfect for gifts and souvenirs, our candles are hand poured in small batches in Wye River for our customers on the Surf Coast and in Melbourne.
They come in apothecary inspired amber glass jars, with our signature hot-branded cork lids.
We use a blend of coconut and soy wax because :
- This blend is clean burning,
- Non-toxic,
- The most sustainable wax available,
- All-natural, and
- Non-GMO.
We use wooden wicks in our candles due to the following :
- They are more eco-friendly than their cotton counterparts,
- They give off minimal soot,
- Our wicks are sourced safely and sustainably from suppliers that have the FSC registration, and
- They are all-natural and treated with a clean burning agent.
Our candles and diffusers come in plastic-free kraft packaging.
All our products are vegan and cruelty free.
